I worked as a clinical physician assistant for eight years and then as a group practice administrator. After doing some healthcare information technology and practice management consulting I began working at a patient safety organization. I became a vice president of organizational excellence for five years and then became a vice president of safety and quality for a health system. Through these experiences I had the opportunity to mentor, consult and coach multiple people in leadership, management and other aspects of life. I am currently a professor at a university and have taught in other universities for several years.
I have a bachelor degree in medical science and worked as a physician assistant (PA-C) for eight years before pursuing a master’s in business administration (MBA). I have a PhD from the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. I also have had training in lean/six sigma, Baldrige, patient safety, Crucial Conversations, TeamSTEPPS, and leadership. I have special training through a Professional Executive Coaching certificate from the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling.
